The new Arduino Nano miniaturizes creativity

By Susan Wilson

The new Arduino Nano miniaturizes creativity For those into creating clothes that light up or jewelry that pulses with different light patterns, you will be pleased to know that the Arduino board has been down sized to the Arduino Nano.

The new Arduino Nano is the size of a stick of gum.  This means that Arduino platform creations can be even smaller, or can utilize more than one Arduino Nano to create clothing, jewelry or set pieces with multiple displays or patterns at once.

Leah Buechley, a post doctoral researcher at the University of Colorado in Boulder,  has used Arduino boards in the past in many of her research projects.  She even has a do-it-yourself section on her website that will give you the materials needed and step by step instructions to help with your own creations.

These little boards could also be used to create safety clothing for people or pets, as well as, allow bar patrons to send messages back and forth with out the need for speech like: “Interested” (bright red and capitalized on T shirt), and “Drop Dead” (black large letters on dress).
