When Costumes Go Bad

By Destry

Street Pranks - When Costumes Go BadThese five videos capture the greatest guerilla street pranks ever.

From three continents, these twisted geniuses applied their sinister skills towards challenging the unsuspecting.

Hey rube! You’re on YouTube!

Ah ha ha ha ha….

1. The Giant Pillaging Cell Phones.

It’s legendary moment in the history of technology. A woman yakking on her cell phone was suddenly confronted by a giant cell phone. Two of em!

The giant commando cell phones grabbed her cell phone, smashed it to bits — and then ran. (”Lucky for us that she was wearing platform shoes,” the giant cell phone remembers in the video’s description…)

It’s a practical joke — they actually switched in a decoy phone which they smashed instead. But they still captured their victims’ horrified reactions.

“Run!” one cellphone shouts to another, as they flee through the streets of England. “Keep running!!!”

2. Bear Knuckles

It’s a real switch when the guy in the costume gets humiliated. That’s what makes this video so special.

A crazed fan attempts to suck up to Will Ferrell by re-creating his bear-wrestling scene from his movie “Semi Pro.” But he does it by attacking strangers at random on a street in Australia. The best part about this video is that he attacks the wrong stranger, who promptly beats him to the ground — and then kicks the crap out of him!

A prank-hating YouTube commenter responded “Someone give that kid a medal.”

3. Quack Attack

There’s nothing more humiliating than being pummeled by a giant duck in a green sweater. Unless it’s having to have a cheerleader bail out your furry butt…

That’s what happened to the University of Houston’s mascot, “Shasta the Cougar,” when he ran afoul of the mighty fighting duck from Oregon.

The duck was later suspended — though at least one observer thought the Cougar should be suspended — because “he got PWNED.”

By the way, the Cougars lost — 48-27.

4. Robot Terror in Aisle Three

Only the wicked of heart need fear our robot overlords.

Who would’ve thought Lego Mindstorms could be so malicious? A geek frightens and delights the local children with his homemade toy robot — until its becomes self-aware, and subjugates all of humankind.

The hidden camera captures some great reactions as a prankster tempts electronics shoppers wish sweet hard candies — and then sics his robot on anyone trying to take one.

Danger! Danger!

Ming the Merciless has too much time on his hands…

5. Zombie!

It’s the last thing you’d expect to see when strolling through the park with your groceries: the rampaging undead rising from the earth. Step off the bike path, and run!

Guerilla pranks are even better when you know you’re terrorizing the neighborhood. (”Your dog-on-a-leash offers no protection from these brain-eating, flesh-stalking hoards…”) Now they’ll think twice before going anywhere near that abandoned cemetery up by the highway.

And unbeknownst to the unsuspecting townsfolk, their reactions are already being critiqued on YouTube.

“That Dude at the end went Chuck Norris!”

And you thought all you had to worry about were mimes…
